"From Wellington, New Zealand to
Cleveland, Ohio, USA:
Cheers for leading the next phase
of offshore wind power generation -
a great contribution towards beating
global climate change."

Nicholas R. Lewis, CEO, Celsias Ltd.
'Cooling the Planet One Project at a Time'

As a native Clevelander, born and raised in
Cleveland's Old Brooklyn neighborhood,
I have a strong desire to see a
green and growing Cleveland.
A windustrious Cleveland is a great goal.
Let's make it a reality.

Aaron Lobas, Engineer at URS Corporation
and concerned citizen.

"Local renewable energy is the most
responsible answer to the enormous
challenges we face in global warming
and peak oil. Cities throughout Europe
are already reaping the economic and
ecological benefits of locally-produced
wind, solar, geothermal and biomass
energy. American cities should do the
same, and Cleveland should be at the
forefront of this shift to a smarter, more
secure way of powering our economy."

Daniel Lerch, author, " Post Carbon Cities:
Planning for Energy and Climate Uncertainty.
"

"It is imperative to explore alternatives to
generating power by burning fossil fuels.
Wind mills on Lake Erie are a great opportunity for Cleveland."

Pascal Vaudrevange, Postdoctoral Researcher
Case Western Reserve University

I think a wind farm in Lake Erie is a terrific idea. It will benefit
the environment and economy many ways. The obvious way is
the renewable electricity, but what most folks don't realize is that
the foundations of these types of structures make great habitat
for creatures that support sport fishing. While fishing on Lake Erie
last summer, our guide took us to a coast guard platform at
the edge of the shipping lanes. The bass were everywhere!
I'd love to see the wind farm.

"A Piece Of Cleveland manufactures high quality
products from deconstructed building materials.
We rescue and upcycle good wood, while sharing
the unique stories of our green products. APOC looks
forward to the day it can proclaim to its customers
that all our products are produced using 100%
wind energy - generated right here on our beautiful
Lake Erie! We hope this day comes very soon."

Chris Kious, A Piece Of Cleveland

"All opportunities to develop renewable
energy must be seized. In a hurry!
We think wind mills are majestic and
inspiring. They certainly photograph
well and are quickly becoming an icon
of promise. The idea of the first
freshwater wind farm is particularly
exciting. Cleveland will be proud to be
on the cutting edge of our country's
development of renewable resources!"

Ed Morris and Susannah Sayler
Co-founders and Directors, The Canary Project.

"I love the idea of Windustrious Cleveland.
I blogged about it.
Rock on. More power to you!
Cleveland has to adopt this idea!
Now, what can we do as regular Cleveland
citizens to make it happen? Thanks."

Tony Thai, Actor and Cyber Activist

"I am absolutely in favor
of wind power on Lake Erie"

Doug Paige
Associate Professor - Industrial Design
The Cleveland Institute of Art

"I applaud Windustrious' efforts to help
the citizens of Ohio address two key
challenges of the 21st century: climate
change and energy security. Projects
like this pioneering offshore wind farm
can help Cleveland take advantage of
its great local resources and inspire
other communities across the country to
become thriving, energy independent
economies."

Dennis Markatos-Soriano
Founder of Sustainable Energy Transition

I just would like to send you my support for the Lake Erie Wind Farm
off the shores of Cleveland. I feel it would be an important catalyst
for creating economic opportunity and helping to establish the city
as a national leader in the 21st century. Also, this is one development
that could create opportunities for future professionals like myself.

Thor Hoskins
Architecture / Construction Management Student
Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo

It's a great idea to harvest some of the wind
energy from Lake Erie,
and I'm sure it would
be done in the most ecologically-sensitive way.

Humanity's biggest challenge is to phase out
coal use in energy production,
and wind has
to be a big
part of the answer."
Mark Lynas, journalist, and author of a number
of books, including Six Degrees: Our Future
on a Hotter Planet
He is one of the leading
voices in the climate change debate in the UK.

"America is lagging far behind Europe in the area
of sustainability, namely renewable energy production.
Europe produces 76 percent of world's wind power.
We must act now on developing renewable energy
sources, and building our wind and solar energy
infrastructure. I applaud Sarah Taylor and her organization,
for seeing where Cleveland can go if we blaze
the trail for the rest of America. Great vision
is the ability to see needed applications of the future,
and act before others to secure your place.
Cleveland should act on this extraordinary vision.
Let's support Windustrious and position our city
for the economy of tomorrow while simultaneously preserving our planet."
Timothy L. Tramble

"Go Cleveland!"

Elizabeth Royte, author of
Garbage Land: On the Secret Trail of Trash
and
Bottlemania: How Water Went on Sale
and Why We Bought It

"We need a new aesthetic for the 21st century-
one that looks at a turbine blade spinning as a
sign that we're finally getting our act together.
I can't think of anything lovelier
than the breeze made visible."

Bill McKibben
Author, Educator, Environmentalist

Good luck. Wind is important -- very.

in the Carter Administration. Founder,

"Projects like this one can promote green-collar
jobs, and lead to shared economic prosperity
in a cleaner, greener America"

Gillian Caldwell

1 Climate. 1 Future. 1 Chance.

"Wind power will be an exciting part of Cleveland's
future. Instead of importing energy from
somewhere else, we can invest our energy
dollars in local, renewable energy sources
that create good jobs and promote innovation."

David Beach
Director, GreenCityBlueLake Institute
Cleveland Museum of Natural History

"Sarah --Your Windustrious endeavor is quite exciting and the timing could not be better for our country. I am thrilled to have found out about this undertaking and look forward to Cleveland being put on the map as the nation's leader in wind energy and the world's first fresh water wind farm! Best wishes for your efforts and thank you!

(or NE Ohio) an opportunity for
cutting edge innovation in energy development.
