"The wind blowing across the Great Lakes of North America is an as-yet unused source of clean renewable energy. In Cleveland, Ohio it is
great to see that a citizen initiative is transforming this potential into a growing reality. The Icebreaker Project has an excellent chance of being
the first of many offshore wind power installations on the Great Lakes. These will result not only in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, but
also in a big increase in job-creating manufacturing centers throughout the region.
I congratulate Windustrious Cleveland for its role in bringing this project into existence. May its success help others in their efforts to turn to clean
natural resources for all of our energy needs. Our country has always celebrated citizen action, and the existential threat we face from climate change
demands that we all raise our voices ever more strongly.”
